1. Purpose & Strict Data Minimization
This static archive preserves nine years of public community discussions, class builds, crafting guides, and patch history from the Dark Legacy MUD forums (September 2004 – January 2013). In accordance with GDPR Article 5(1)(c) (Data Minimization), the static export pipeline enforces a strict public allowlist:
- Public Boards Only: Only the 13 public game and community boards are included. All private messages, staff/administration boards, and grievance boards are permanently excluded.
- Zero Personal Contact Data: Account email addresses, IP addresses, password hashes, session logs, birthdates, and third-party instant-messenger handles were stripped prior to static generation and do not exist in this archive.
- Automated & Audited Inline Scrubbing: Inline email addresses, residential IP/hostname references, and personal real-life details posted inside historical threads have been scrubbed prior to publication.
- Zero Tracking or Cookies: This archive is 100% static HTML, CSS, and client-side JavaScript. It sets no cookies, runs no server-side scripts, and loads no third-party analytics or external tracking images.
2. Requesting Anonymization or Post Removal (GDPR Art. 17)
Any former contributor who wishes to have their handle anonymized or specific posts removed from the public archive may submit a request at any time:
- Tier 1 — Handle Anonymization: Your forum username (and main character badge) is replaced across all authored posts and quote citations with
Anonymized Adventurer, preserving the surrounding community thread flow. - Tier 2 — Post Redaction: Specific post bodies authored by you are replaced with
[This post was removed at the author's request.]. - Tier 3 — Full Thread Exclusion: Threads containing sensitive personal matters are excluded entirely from the static build and search index.
To request anonymization or removal, please contact the Dark Legacy administration via the official Dark Legacy Discord with the thread or post URL (e.g., /t/7536/#p20094) and your historical character or forum handle.
