worst pet experiences?

hey... what are your people's worst experiences with your home pets? my most recent pet was a $750 parakeet that died due to some stupid disease.

taking home a kitten that was dropped off at work (i work at petsmart)and having it die some months later b/c it had a cat form of aids and leukimia
