Spells you think don't work properly...

I have yet another Spell "sleep" vs "alertness"
i epic a lot and its a pain for a spell like alertness not to work properly. it something worth looking into.
The Alertness spell when have +050 R-slee effected i think should have less effect durtion of sleep by seconds or persentages.


I tryto trigger a trap in epic wtih sleep in it and guess what? i had alertness on and nothing. not even a chance for the spell to fail :x . So i try to find the same trap and guess what i find it and the same effect with alertness spell on. This is worth looking in to. I'm sure there are other spells. :cry:

show me the rolls, (if they show) basically you had a resistance of +50 to sleep right?

(or 50 sleep resistance)

if the trap hit you for anything over 50, then you fail

i up it and im still having the same thing happen +092 and epic trap contain sleep spell for no "show rolls" b/c im a gnome with high MR :oops:

could it be becuase its a gas and not the spell? i know it affects you like the spell would, but does it work the same way? maby it was ment to happen.

Another spell i looking into is Acid breath and the twin sister fire breath. If you ask me acid breath should have more damage to armor then fire breath and not the same :?

Another spell worth looking into "poison"

This spell make one effect lower strenght(STR) that counts. If your poison 3 things happens

Lower str
Effects MST
Very low damage

if you ask me poison should kill MST, lower -1 str per fec, and do percentage damage instead of 5 damage points.

its because there were no fecs in poison that there was no damage and low bad-results

I believe poison should do DOT not reduce str. When i fought Scorpinock with my pvp he casted poison and it brought my str all the way down to one.

I didnt think it was fair, but since their is MR there is little to do about it.

i know warrior have high str and the same for int/wis you need to enchant a lot of stat for your class and reduce this problem, poison only from my thinking does 2 out of 3 effects. :arrow: (effect str and little amount of damage)

i think the sleep spell should be tweaked so that we can cast it on players while fighting. If we can cast it on mobs while fighting, why not on players. It almost makes it useless in a PvP sense.

Thats a HUGE waste of espace. Why would i max out my stats twice?

Why wouldn't you for PvP? Strength is ultra important. As you found out.

The Spell is what im mad about. I dont want to waste espace so that i wont get weakened by one spell.

The whole idea of the poison spell is to incapacitate you. It would defeat the purpose to remove the strength sap, and DoT wouldn't make much difference in PvP considering the heal that people can get. A well versed caster using poison and weakness should be able to wreck a warrior's strength. Chances are the warrior can cast warmonger, strength, etc. to counter this anyway.

and remove curse doesnt take up much complexity

Sleep was an emergency fix pending combat patch, when I actually have time to design a version that isn't abusive :P

with the race patch and all there are races that have immune to sleep. and resisted to it like werewolf 20% in everything 8)

The spell 'Fear' needs a upgrade. Making someone fallback or retreat, i suggest add a effect on it.
Example: Fear make you fallback/retreat and -3 balance caps :twisted:

I think we should have a spell that we can use against people who retreat that would make them advance. A so called "Lure" spell. It would cause the target to advance 5 feet per fec rune in it. Just an idea for those who dont like to fight up close or use elementals and retreat ;)

Poison is easily countered; you can easily prevent it from affecting you and you can easily remove it once it's cast on you.

ya i know, you can dispell it, cure poison or just have a high mr. but i still dont like it.
