MUSHCLIENT
I use Mush, if you need any help or have questions, let me know. Would love to help. =)

Couple Problems with Mushclient: So, if you can get a better client without paying, go for it.
1. Alias doesn't recognize the slash \ . Only aggrivating when you want to use guild badges or are allowed to rank people in the guild and want to create aliases.
2. Once you create various alts - unless you want a hundred or more triggers all on one file, you'll need to create a world for each character which delays in logging off and on as quickly as others do.
I use MUSH, and always have. But there are better clients out there.

i used mushclient but i just switched to portal, i just have a question:
in mush you could send certain lines to a text file, e.g. i would send all the oocs to a text file so that if i was doing anything really spammy i could flip to the text file and see what people were saying
but how do i do that on portal? (i haven't gotten fully used to it yet)
thanks!

You mean like a channel monitor, i have a tell monitor set up, send me a pm or a tell on DL and i can help you make one.. Kind of hard to show you without going step by step with you.
But... If you're feeling brave i'll just post the steps here:
1) create a new event that triggers off of * tells you '* (you can substitute any channel you want for tell).
2) set the first variable (the first *) to @AA (or any variable you want...) and the second to @BB (or any variable you want...)
3) For the triggers actions have it do ;process @TELL=~@AA~@BB
4) Click Screens on top menu, and select Tell Monitor
5) Feel free to mess around with the tell monitor options
. Also if you want to make it on ooc or something there is a special chat monitor... @CHAT=<command>~<chat line>~<who chatted>~<message>
ex. @CHAT=ot~Guild Talk~@AA~@BB Where @AA is the person, and @BB the message.
6) The Chat monitor holds up to 1000 characters for a message, where as the tell monitor is less...
7) If i confused you just get a hold of me, and i'll walk you through it better.
Theres also a way to send lines to a file, but its more complicated i think.

i agree with quinster on this one portal GT doesnt update the client enoughQuintos wrote:I can't stand PortalGT...it's basically a dumbed down version of zMUD that doesn't have as many features (unless they added many since I last used it).

I've been able to do anything i've wanted on Portal GT ( including anything that you can do in Zmud). I think portal GT is a little bit more limited, trigger wise, but it's still possible to make complex triggers like those used on zMud Also on the plus side its a lot more user friendly on other features. Plus portal gt is free, and it does update
.
