Bandages

Post by Sardonyx »

It is possible I am just not figuring this out but since the patch my low-level character has used alot more bandages than I ever have before so this question came up. Is there a way to direct the bandage location? I have say 3 scratches, 2 bruises, and a bitemark thats bleeding...so naturally my main concern is that bitemark. Near as I can tell though the only way I will ever get it bandaged is after the previous non-bleeding injuries are taken care of. I tried bandage torso and the msg was "they are not here" so I tried bandage Amberle torso and it bandaged the bruise on my arm. If there is a way to pick the area that needs tending please let me know, if not perhaps this matter could be addressed.

good idea

i'll also post some of the other bandage related thoughts here -->

having a safe distance where you could do an automatic bandage (range)

and having a special enchantment skill which allowed specialty bandages (non magical)

An alternative would be to make bandaging take time(like enchanting, "you begin bandaging your wound...") and if you get hit, it is interrupted. Perhaps a "healing" craft that uses bandages, herbs, poultices, etc? It wouldn't be as good as a cleric's healing, mundane methods are inferior to magical ones, but it would let voids and warriors have some method of healing

Such skill would be great adds to the Warrior and Paladin classes.

Here's what I think.

Bandaging:
- You should be able to target a location.
NPC-AI:
- MOBs with ARMS should be able to bandage, but not MOBs without.
- MOBs should perhaps make bandages. ATM they can bandage without actually having a bandage... -.-

Herblore
- Herblore should be a craft.
- You forage herbs and use a mortar and pestle to ground them up -.-
- You should apply the herbs to a bandage.
- The power of the herb should set the bandage with a level that you must be to use, kinda like sigils.
- Anyone will be able to use a bandage with herbs in it etc

I think for Herblore it might be nice to give druids/rangers a nice chance at producing better herbs for bandages with a nature roll involved in the process. Tech. thats only for magic but it partially represents knowledge of that particular school, so i feel it would work. Im not sure if youd just make it only based on Nature or if you could allow for a normal system where with Nature rolls above a certain DC (at various levels) it would add a bonus or something. So you dont nerf normal herbs for ppl but just allow the Nature rolls to give a possible bonus.

Herblore is a good idea, especially grouping it under Nature complexity, with Ranger/Druid being the best at it.

I agree with most who have posted here - being able to specify a certain location can mean the difference between life and death. ^^
