Nothing says battle and endless war like the War between Good and Evil! So my idea is for 2 new races, diametrically(sp) opposed to one another. The Angel and the Demon.
Angels would get fly, darkvision and maybe Iceshield or something as base abilities.
Demons would also get fly and darkvision, maybe fireshield.
The negative to all this would be this. You cannot deviate from your alignment. Angels _must_ be good, and Demons _must_ be evil.
This could add a fun Roleplay aspect to the races. If people here do in fact roleplay....hmm....

Fly? You can do that with a spell.
Darkvision? This does what exactly? Do you mean see in the dark? We have lights for that already. That don't break, and regen 100% all the time.
Iceshield? Already a spell, and I see people with full shields anyways.
Fireshield? See above.
All this does is serve to make two races more powerful than the rest (though, not a whole lotta good it does).
It also implies PK, which is not really all that popular here.
Jorelani - we ALREADY have two races that are more powerful than the rest, and a race with some crappy elemental shields and darkvision would still suck hard compared to pixies and gnomes.
Darken - it's a good idea, I would certainly like to see Angel or Demon as a race, or to get half-fiend and half-celestial back. I'm still not sure why they scrapped all of the cool races and replaced them with stupid races that very few people want to play. Almost no one is an orc, halfling, ogre, phasian, or troll, and pixies and gnomes are only common because of their absurd racial bonuses(how many gnomes did you see before they got their 50 MR...?).
They supposedly scrapped drow, half-celestial, half-fiend, and the other cool races in favor of aforementioned stupid races because the cool races would be difficult to roleplay. However, how are you supposed to roleplay a pixie, a relatively carefree and peaceful race, in a game that revolves around competition, hard work, and killing? Also, I doubt anyone actually WANTS to roleplay a pixie or gnome, I think most people would much rather roleplay a drow, celestial, or fiend (look at all of the players who have described themselves as "angels", and there is even a guild named Order of Angels)
I do agree there should be races like demon and angel, what about t(h)ieflings and aasimar? i also agree that gnomes and pixies are WAY to strong and i would never want to rp them. so bring in the old races.( I saw a (one of the) last zion lately and it was very kewl.

i wish we can get back half-fiend and half-celestial back, and maybe a powerhouse physique unique half dragon race. I personal would like to see a non-magic class specialize in strength and skills. im thinking this was warriors see that they dont use magic and pure melee. The human race with the starsign is great. Keep up the new ideas flowing.
