i'm having issues with it atm, even though i know i'm using the proper IP, and it's pingable.
So if anyone else is having similar woes, you're not alone, i'll post here when it's resolved.

If it is a zMUD problem the fix would probably be to:
Edit the character settings for Dark Legacy,
Put: 205.234.68.8 in the Host, although I think dark-legacy.com is working now.
Click the lookup button... I /think/ that might fix it.

it doesnt
the first thing i did was try every available way to make it work, no luck.
and it's not limited to zmud, using windows default telnet client also does not work.
i can ping the thing (98 ms)
host lookup works fine
http://www.dark-legacy.com can resolve its ip address fine
but, i cannot connect

It'd help to see some trace routes.

I use ZMud and the way I got on was went to the new screen, Clicked new, typed the IP address in host, named it DL Temp, typed the port, and bam, I was in.
205.234.68.8 (IP)
9898 Port
If you need help connecting this way, send me a PM and I'll do whatever I can to help anyone that asks.

In my case, and probably Dunadans, i believe our sites are somehow blocked.
Posted: Fri Nov 04, 2005 5:17 pm
by Dunadan
Yeah it does look that way, won't even let us try to connect.

irc is cool I hear, for talking with people if you can't connect.
I'll see what I can find out this weekend.

Yeah, most anyone that needs to talk to me can use my msn to talk though, but i might try getting on the IRC later.

Why don't you guys try logging in through a proxy?
Posted: Thu Nov 10, 2005 7:45 am
by Isabelle
do you have any suggestions to some proxy servers?
when it first happened, i tried mudconnect, and some other one which seemed big at the time. Both did the same thing as if they were not proxy servers, but just using my windows telnet client to connect.
I don't currently have any shell accounts from which to logon with.
I've done a couple searches for proxy servers, but i lose patience quickly, and have not yet found what i'm looking for.

question, is the mud up or down? (12:30 est)
because when i use any of the proxy servers on that website, i either get:
a screen of html code saying that there was some internal error, or, i connect to dark legacy (connected to: Dark Legacy) and i get nothing.
if it's down, then ok, if it's up, then it looks like theres either something wrong with my brain, or i'm outta luck
