Engraving keywords

I don't know if this has ever been brought up, but how about enabling engrave to add a keyword to an object, specifically containers. I'm a bit of a packrat but I like to keep things seperate, like one container for runes, another for sheets, etc and being able to have a portal with the keyword "runes" or "ore" or "picks" would be great.

Thank you,
Sathias

Problems come when people think of ways to abuse keyword engravings.

addkey: adds a keyword to the item but keeps the current ones as well. lala

Problems come when people find a way to abuse ANYTHING, Vogar.

The classic reason for no capitals in engravings, and no keyword changes is the simple fact that both are easily abused.

Yet people are still stupid enough to fall for tricks with current engraving.

it could be set up to that in the engraving process, well look at this:

Engrave mushroom 'porus mushroom with blue specteral dots'

Code: Select all

If
'Porus mushroom with blue specteral dots' match line (?P<Line #>\d+) in file high demand object list
Then
send.toworld "Engravement Failed"
Else
Do.Engravement
send.toworld "Engravement Successful"
It's rough, but it gives you an idea oh what I mean, well, it should. I dunno... I think I confused myself.

Either way:
have all the crafted equipement names and ore types be forbidden to engrave, and all the "Sought after" names be forbidden as well, non-case sensative, but with the exact spelling, and if people can't spell, or refuse to check auction details then it's their problem and fault for getting ripped off.

perhaps you havent noticed, celeborn has already made a label command on testport, which functions just as you want, and it cannot confuse anyone when auctioning.

Well i tried engraving my portal for runes to rune bag but instead it only appear as rune and when i type exam rune nothing appear till i used exam portal..... so it still doesn't change to keyword. i kinda agree to sathias some of us may have lots and lotsa portals to keep many things but when it comes to retriving things we will have to look through all of our portals to see wats in them.

It would greatly help if we can engrave keyword into an item example:
egraving portal for runes to 'runeportal' so when i type exam runeportal i'll be able to go straight to the portal which contains all my runes etc...

place an apostrophe around anything that has two words

this includes casting spells, conjuring spells, getting / manipulating items, engraving/labelling

ya but it still doesn't change the Key word of the engraved item to it. takeing my previous reply as an example i get 2 portals in my inventory,
i engrave the word ab on portal 1 and ba on portal 2, when i type exam ab system roll back saying you dun see that item but instead if i type exam 1.portal i get to see the contents of the ab portal so as to say the
engraving does not change the keyword of the item.....

With the item-grouping I added a command called 'label'. It allows you to add a personal key to your objects. (others wont see/be affected by it).
