If you are a Dwarf, Gerp, Gnome, or Halfling the guild 'The Circle of Steel' was origionally made with the purpose of crafting. If your not one of those races, well.... you should be.

Guys, this is a thread about crafting tutorials and/or hints and tips, plz keep it on topic.
I do suggest Felicia that you make a dwarven character and ask Vogar what he requires of his guild members and then send an application in if youre interested.
I also help out all guild members with questions and help most people if they ask questions on the chat.
Right now, i also recommend taking an in depth look at the the help files.
Start with help craft then go through all those help files, dont forget to check the help files they recommend under see also:

Felicia, to tell roughly how many resources you're going to need to get 100% in a craft you should do this:

x*1600

where x is equal to the number of resources it takes to create one item of that craft.

IE, if you wanted to make a sword

Lets all ask ourselves a question. If the account 'owner' never uses the account, are they really the owner? Then comes another question. If they are not the 'true owner', isn't that illegal multiple accounts?

I could easily have a dozen friends make accounts, play for a week, then give me the share-password or real password. Should that be allowed? Even if I did not multiplay? Why are we only limited to 8 characters?

Boy oh boy, thats a lot of questions and thinking. Back to my ale.

about some of the crafts. how would i get started on whittling and bonecarving, as in what would i need? also where can i find a saw? i can chop down trees easily enough its the processing part that im stuck on

Get someone to make you a saw and then get some blocks of wood into your inventory and type process block. It'll process it into planks or ruin the blocks depending on what your skill in processing wood is. When you have planks inside a portal and you get one plank out of the portal you can start whittling and it'll know where to get the rest of the wood. All you'll need is 1 plank out the whole time

The Kender General Store in Kendermore (village) has woodworking saws, you can also purchase them from players, and you can forge them from metal (forge 6 4)

Kendermore is southwest of midian, if you follow the road from midian west, and stay on the road, it moves counterclockwise around the lava mountains/volcanoes, eventually it goes southeast, and you will reach it.

And if you still want bone, you'll have to start salvaging them. Not just any creature will do either, i started out in the graveyard killing undead stuff and generally everything bony. But there aren't really many useful things to bonecarve right now, so just stick with salvaging, people pay lots for a portal of bone....dunno why, guess i missed something good to make?.....
