Have you tried connecting from a different computer, or from a different physical connection?

yeah, i tried diff computers
i'm sure i could connect with some other ISP, but my goal is to be able to connect while at home, and i don't understand why it's not letting me
Well, i understand that when that Seattle Datacentre was lost, so was I, i'm just not understanding the specifics.

Yeah i've tried different computers too, but they're all on the same network and ISP so it doesn't help much. And since i have no access to computers on a different network right now i'd kind of like to be able to play here too

Heya guys,
As far as I can gather its not the mud itself but either the server or something along the route blocking port 9898 for certain providers. Since I lack admin access to the machine I have no way of analysing the network traffic for a problem.
I've setup a quick and dirty means to connect those who are unable to connect. email me (
daan@daan.demon.nl) with your IP number and/or hostname and i'll email you the specifics.
I've mailed our provider for some help on the issue. I hope he'll be able to fix things soon

Isa, duna, and anyone else with connection problems, could you try connect to: cassie.xidus.net, port 9898? It will help the server admin to determine if the problem is provider or server/mud based.
You should get connected to a game called 'SocialMUX' which is temporarily on that port for the purpose of this test.

Yes i can connect to that mud just fine, as for the DL one you sent me i get the same problem.

Well after sending my networks IP celeborns temporary fix worked.
Hopefully the DL server can be fixed too
