Classless muds have been around at least since Circle (although they were kinda cruddy) but since D2 they have become more popular, I belive that is what Kari is saying, not that D2 is the originator. To be quite honest, classless muds usually end up becoming very stagnate after a while, certain ski...

Vogar is right, -way- too many tri-av type people are constant pains in the nether regions. I mean, joking around is one thing, but some people constantly abuse the rules, annoy other players etc etc etc... I guess my point is that if you are going to make someone -eventually- responsible for the ac...

If you want to talk about horse eq, research the cataphracts of persia. those poor horses wore almost three times thier own weight in armor PLUS a fully-loaded knight. Sure they could only charge short distances and had to do long marches un-equipped, but against infantry they were almost unstoppabl...

Ye, other people love pixies. -I- love pixies! Especially slow roasted, marinated in a sauce made from thier own diced wings...YUM. An ogre delicacy, you know.

To be honest, the only thing I think we need is the ability to change container keywords, since we can already engrave them. Re-equipping is EASY, just drop all your eq ONCE, and pick it up/wear it in the order it should be worn. Poof no more re-equip nightmares. It just seems like a lot of effort f...

I played a MUD with a similar idea, each race had to undergo a period of exclusion and an expenditure of rare resources in order to change into its next form. For example, a dragon character needed 24 online hours with no channels spent in a room full of a certain amount of gems which were consumed ...

The best pics i could find are of modern reproductions, but it will give you an idea. The Yue is here called a 'deer antler knife', but the concept is the same: http://www.martialartsmart.net/4545.html Also cool would be the Yuen Yang razor: http://www.martialartsmart.net/45-78.html Or the Sun and M...

How about the Yue(moon)? Its a chinese weapon that loosk like two crescent moons with the tips facing eachother and overlapped, the outer crescent is a cutting blade, the inner crescent is the handle and the protruding tips are sharp. I'll see if i can find a pic.

Actually, i think the original idea was a better one..a debate or gossip channel for stupid out of control arguements. Personally I wouldn't mind shutting such a channel off, but I don't like to miss ooc or avatar. I've seen numerous muds where a channel such as this has worked great, the problem wo...

First of all, I belive that pre-epic levelling is a major part of growth and learning about DL before epic levels, and that a departure to a total epic-style game would be a major mistake. That being said, I think that current pre-epic levels need more areas (and more interesting areas) to level in ...

To Vow or not to Vow

First..let me post the relevant part of the vow helpfile: Vow that the specified character is worthy to take his/her place on the mud. This will allow them to use global channels. You will be responsible for the players actions until he/she reaches level 30, so make sure he/she is educated and skill...

As far as i am concerned paladins are a very well balanced class that need little change. The only thing that I think they should have and don't is the ability to see ghosttalk. They get ressurect, so why not the ability to ghosttalk? I don't see it as unbalancing.

I personally like swashbuckler as an epic class, you get almost everything Vogar loves about the Chanpion class (minus the warrior-specific skills such as spin) but trade them for more speed from psion complexities as well as some defense spells.

Lava idea: Have lava work like mine flooding (since the mines are much larger it will not flood all of the mines, only connected free spaces). Lava should do heavy damage (vs fire resistance.) After a time the lava-filled rooms cool down again...and are re-filled with resources (that were in the lav...

Just my 2 gold, but I like Vogar's idea in theory. 'Disguising' the rarer metals (and gems) would make prospect useful again, as well as help limit the amount of 'super' resources being pulled from the mines. I know personally if i see a big M a couple rooms away Im going to change my mining directi...
