I enjoy reading and writing poetry Post the best poems you know here Don't know if anyone will like it but heres a poem that I have written to start it off:
As the Warmth fades the pain becomes real,
As the Warmth fades my strength repeals,
As the Warmth fades my soul dies,
I'm still hiding behind the deceitful lies.
As the Warmth fades and Anger sets in,
My life is darkened with so much sin,
I won't take it back, I won't feel shame,
I won't feel sorry for the weak and the lame.
Yet as my scars will continue to sear,
Losing you is my only fear,
Don't cry, No don't drop a tear,
I'll always be with you right here.
And As the Warmth fades the Winter returns.
The fire in my eyes continue to burn,
I'll watch all the children following their trends,
Just wake me up when the Winter ends.
To live and then to die,
But don't ever ask me why,
There is such a thin line,
between Heaven and sky.

There was a man from Peru
Who dreamt he was eating his shoe
In the midst of the night
He woke with a fright
To find it was perfectly true.
Thats my favorite poem.

(Written on bathroom wall)
Some come here to sit and think,
others come to s**t and stink.
I come here to scratch my b***s,
and read the writing on the walls.

There was an old man from Nantucket
Who kept all his cash in a bucket
But his daughter, named Nan
Ran away with a man
And as for the bucket Nantucket
There are many spin off of this poem, but this is the one i know

How about a Limmerick?
A macho young swimmer named Dwyer,
Really liked playing with fire.
One night in the dark
He swam with a shark,
And his voice is now two octaves higher.
Isnt that a good one?
How about some haiku?
At this desk all day
With nothing to amuse me
Except screensavers.
Te police came so fast
I thought the ice cream was free
The gun just went off .
Thats good for now

I wrote this last night actually..
Well does the Watcher know,
What goes on beneath his feet below.
Atop his tall tower of stone,
He must feel quite alone.
But a Soldier there must stand,
To mind the task at hand.
Yet as the Watcher becomes old,
So the enemy grows bold.
For if his sight does fail,
Oh shall the kingdom quail.
Then shall the kingdom be rife,
With death and famine and strife.
The young in their turn must stand,
To mind the task at hand.
For the tall tower need not tumble,
To see the kingdom crumble.

Shouldn't there be one less syllable in that first line?

Here is a published poem of mine that I have rewrote for DL
A player character is like a sword, forged by a master smith
They are shaped by the blows of life, upon the anvil of the world, Alora
And tempered in the fire of in game torment, mistakes, and death.
But if they prove true, and show no flaws.
Then they are a suitable weapon for the hand of god, Celeborn

Ready he stands, hooks in his hands
the sole way to, travel these lands.
Regular sound, heard through the ground,
indicates that, train is around.
Must not fumble, as with rumble
Intercity, leaves the tunnel.
Thrill of the chase, leaps into space
buries hooks in, the carapace.
With practised knack, pulls the head back
pulls it around, away from track.
And he laughs, enjoying himself and the power that he wields.
Riding the train, for the moment, freeing it to run through the fields.

Words
Heated in the mind’s forge,
Hammered and beaten,
Reheated and reworked
By the faculties.
Sharpened to a fine edge,
And quenched for strength.
Words
Slipped into a man’s belly,
Poisoned or barbed,
Serrated or spiked
Leaves a keen wound.
A testing of wit,
And a contest of wills.
And btw Shana, that link doesnt work (for me).

The elusive past grasped futilely,
In emotions yearningly felt
And thoughts softly whispered,
Of a memory, of a dream long gone,
As the hint to a puzzle not remembered
Or the passing shadow of a cloud above.
Yet oft, in a sight, a smell, a déjà vu
The moment is swiftly returned.
The memory not truly forgotten,
But clutched in unseen desperation.
A corner of the soul rediscovered
As a revelation, a tiny intimate miracle.
Delight in the memory of a memory.

Your poems are alright, but lets just say im not into the theme...though i liked bitter sweet days. Also, you need to use a spell checker..badly
