The price will be no where near $700, it'll be more around 300-450. And considering the hardware that's being put into it that's not a bad price.

It doesn't have 2 CPUs. It technically has 9.

i have heard that the ps1 and ps2 memory cards will not work in the new system. this would really suck because i still play on my ps1 that i got eight years ago (yes, it still works, how i have no clue) but i was getting ready to buy a ps2 when i heard about a ps3 coming out, i decided to save my money. having to buy a new memory card would suck a lot (i still also use my original memory card, it has 12 pages, and yes, it still works).

Having backward compatability in games but not memory cards would be pretty stupid...it would result in a lot of angry customers without any real benefit. No one will be getting the system just to play old games so they'd buy a new memory card anyway.

advance sucks, the PS1 version rocks.

and i hope its not true that old memory wont work, like someone up there said it'd make no sense to have old game compatability but no memory compatibility. oh well, gives you an excuse to play the games over again.

i liked tactics for the advanced. The whole point of the snowball fight was to introduce some of the game mechanics and to intoduce characters in the game.

It was still lamer than FFT PS1.

I played advance all the way through cause i had no other games for my gameboy while on vacation last summer.

I still havent actually finished the PS1 version, i got so many new games it kinda got shoved under the rug on me. right now i'm playin GT4, that game pwns all other raceing games by a 100 miles. And dont you dare say that that X-box racing game is better cause its not.

that x-box racing game is 100% better :P (j/k) i have no clue what x-box game that is :P but for FFT for PS1 you might wana take this tip, make sure to build your main chars origional class, the bonus skills he gets are awsome if you use them right. i was able to 1hit kill the final boss

ok, back to topic. (PS3)

Anyone notice how the announcement of the PS3 has rekindled the war of x-box vs PS? Also anyone notice how PS2 graphics on the new new games are freakin' sweet?

NOT, I repeat, NOT FF 10-2. It's not worth the CD it's imprinted on. Champions of Norath (and its sequel) are ok, but only ok, and only once too, they have NO replay value whatsoever. I think (and call me whatever you want about this) that Everquest is the best for PS. But DL rocks more. Seriously. Other than that there arent many RPGs out there for PS2, at least none worth mentioning. FF10 2 sucks. its that simple.

And i just realised that this post does not answer your question. lol

try xenosaga, i just started playing and i enjoy it alot. The game mechanics are different from normal rpg's which makes it unique.

kingdom hearts, zidane :D:D:DD:DD:D:D:D:D:D:D:

:D

oh, about the PS3, it will have teh amazing BD-ROM capabilities (blu-ray)

more than 23 freaking gigabytes on ONE FRICKIN DISC!!
that means, along with its seemingly unlimited capability for graphics, the discs can have 3 dimensions mapped perfectly with whee-like images!
and EVERYTHING can be voiced out, with this much space :D

OMG i can't beleive you played Champions three times over. *coughloosercough*

The sequel is supposed to be better though, whatever choices you make will have more direct and drastic effects on the story. In other words, more crossroads and more game endings, so you can play it a bunch of times to see how the story will end each time. But its still alot like the first game in that all you do is mash the attack button and kill stuff. LAME LAME LAME LAME

And Chilli, did i hear you correctly with 23 GB!?!?!?!?!?? OMFG THAT'S A- FREAKIN-MAZING!!!! Hopefully this means games will last alot longer than 10-20 hours to beat. I know there's longer games but 10-20 is the average for all the games i tend to play, unles its an RPG, then they can last up to 70 hours. (Or DL, which i have invested 200 hours [8 1\3 DAYS] of my LIFE on so far.....why do we do this again???)
