I've heard that the Firefly tv show was really good, and so I went out and downloaded it. But I haven't watched yet. Anyone have an opinion? From what I've heard it kinda has a cult following. I'm a big fan of Babylon 5, so I'm not sure how I'll like it.
Also, when downloading it, several people had made references to "Jeremiah", which seems to be a series SciFi channel produced. Anyone know anything about it? Looks interesting, but unsure what it has to do with Firefly or if the guy who ripped the Firefly dvds simply liked it.

well all i've heard about Firefly is that it's created by Joss Whedon, the guy who made the Buffy and Angel TV series so it at leasts piques my interest purely because of that (big buffy and angel fan here btw )
then again, i heard Firefly was cancelled after it's first series and i don't have Sky so no wonder i havent heard of it until quite recently hrm

I saw a few eps of the show (firefly), which may seem like not much...But seeing how each ep is an hour, I feel im entitled to my opnion on it.
I think it sucked a lot. Maybe it's just me, but it was just another episodic TV show, this one that happened to have a unique setting (weird ass western styled sci-fi). I have completly lost faith in television. I end up spending more time looking for stuff to watch then actually watching stuff...So I don't watch TV anymore! WHEEEE...Hehehe....But I do <3 anime.

I'm quite fond of shows that have a continuing story from episode to episode. Its one of the primary reasons I love anime, because the story is more than some stupid american loony toon gag. Babylon 5? Loved it, all 110 or so episodes. Name your anime, and chances are I liked it if I saw it. Haven't really come across one I didn't, though some have been boring.

Firefly was an awesome series. It's genre is Cowboy Bebop (hopefully you know what that means)
There is currently a movie out called Serenity, which continues Firefly after it was cancelled. Hopefully they continue the series after the film because it was freakin' awesome.

Firefly was a decent show, which could have been a great show. It just seemed to me that the whole reason behind the show was to promote the movie Serenity. If they were to pick the show back up, it may become a great series. Provided they can get decent writers for it.

The movie was done afterwards. Supposedly two more to go.
To update this thread, firefly kicked ass. Never watched the other one or downloaded it.

Firefly humor is absolutely fantastic.
Especially the episode when the captain gives a captured baddy a mission to tell his boss something. The baddy promptly goes into a lengthy monologue about how he will hunt them till the ends of the earth. Captain: *push into running engine, gets next baddy and begins again*
Heroes indeed.

i liked that episode where she was like hiding in the assassins docked ship, and talking to everyone through the intercom like she had become part of the ship, and was like totally messing with the guys head, that's one of my favourites
