Here are the favorite classes of the realms. Note that for multiclass character each class is counted. Only characters that have played in the last 30 days are included.

Any idea why psio, rogue, druid ranger and bard are so low on the charts?

Well, I've heard that bard is only good as a backup class to assist parties, and well, many want to be able to fight and defend themselves on their own, and as for druid I have heard that since elementals were changed it has become useless, not that it was very useful before, besides the many different elemental advantages. Besides that I don't have any other information to offer.

i think it'd be cool if druids could cast pebblelure outside of the mines, to use for fighting and junk. like the xorn could emerge from the ground instead of the walls

Druids are so low down because no-one wants to be as awesome as me! :D
Nahh, I think it's because they have no particular strengths (pvp or mobwise). Their main selling points are (offensive) sunbeam, conjure elemental; (other) ironwood, rosethorn.
But elementals don't work against players any more, and can rarely hit mobs (it's only the zapping/non-physical attack that really does anything). Also, if you want an offensive spellcasting class, you'd be better off with mage (breath, arrow, etc) rather than druid (sunbeam).
So it's more that there are other classes more useful than druid for particular purposes. I guess people might choose a druid for mining purposes/pebblelure. But not for a 'powerful' character, since there are more useful classes around.

Rangers are not popular for similar reasons - not as good at nature spells as a druid, not as good at melee as any of the melee classes. I'm not sure how popular bows are, I think some pvps may prefer them? So nothing really going for them.

Bards. They're too hard to train up (cleaning, tuning, not to mention the instrument skills), and in the meantime, aren't too good at melee. You can't cast while performing (so a spellcaster doesn't want a bard), you can't dual wield while performing (besides singing) (so a melee-er doesn't want one either). And with the exception of Psalm of Learning, their songs aren't too good either. (eg, why use Faerie Flutter and have to re-perform every time you cast/speak when you could have a cleric and use haste, plus be able to heal better than with Mending Monologue/Healing Harmonic).

</rant>, hah!

maybe druids could get a Shillaleigh spell..that adds magical attack/damage bonuses to the weapon..makes it a druids holy avenger maybe..and is still stackable with enchant weapon and holy avenger..might make adding druid to your mix of classes a little more worthwile? ..also..is thorns still a horribly short duration spell? why not make it a little closer to rancor shields duration if it is?

shillelagh should only work on wood (maybe only wood blunt) weapons, but i'm in agreement. maybe instead of just more damroll/hitroll shillelagh could do something unique, though

yeah, shillelagh could totally do that.

i was actually playing this roguelike based on the d20 system (called incursion) and the shillelagh spell worked on any non-metal equipment, and added damage and a lightning brand. it seems pretty cool, 'cause like, druids are all about harnessing nature, and lightning is totally natured being harnessed. plus the shillelagh spell would make wood useful again for things other than furniture and poles. i've got wood quarterstaves crafting maxed!

man you suggested a lot of junk that's already implemented. we don't need spells that duplicate effects of other spells, especially if the same spells are in the SAME complexity class
hawthorne vines = entangle
nature's cure = til'd poison
thorn shield = ironwood and razorthorn
turn tree = shapeshift treant
bloom = glamour
summon wolf ALREADY EXISTS!

the ideas i like the most though are:
turn possum to get out of a fight
magma and blizzard
summon eagle

bard just dont have enough attack base songs to hold things on there own.
no special attacks for bards too.

Possible to improve bards. :D

Make more speical effect that do 2 or 3 effect in 1 song.
Make bards songs attacks do more damage base on add Damage roll.

more ideas to come. 8)
