lizardmen use dragon racerune? no, the only similarity between a dragon and a lizardman would be possibly that you could call each race "scaled"

however, their scales are not the same, a dragon scale is totally different from a lizards scale.

Its like comparing snakeskin to the hide of a buffalo, completely different :)

As for whether or not a lizardman should use humanoid type rune, of course it should, a lizardman is totally a humanoid, the only difference of note, is a different head, and a tail

They walk erect like a humanoid, its not like they walk around on all fours, or fly around like dragons (no wings) they are as close to a human as it comes :)

You could also argue that like humans evolving from monkeys, lizardmen evolved from iguanas :P or komodo dragons or whatever and not from dragons. So you could say youre "related" since youre reptilian but i think youre far from draconic.
Besides which, evolution combined with fantasy doesnt always work...

Post subject:  trolls - their racerune

trolls are interently different from humanoids, depending on what source you use, dark legacy has a vague description of 300 1bs, 10 feet tall, D&D has it being a tall creature, with very super splindly arms and legs, which can fool you into thinking they are very weak, but on the contrary, are quite powerful.
Trolls are just outside the humanoid structure.

same parts, but totally distorted from that of a human.

would be like a pueblo picasso image of a human :)

well, maybe not quite that bad :)

Maybe Alorian biology is different from the puny earth's biology and we have no amphibians! Ever think of that!?

Post subject:  i think

i may not have explained myself clear enough, i am not just arguing over a 'simple' physical difference

i'm saying that a lizardman 'is' basically a human, except with a tail and weird head.

whereas another creature, would have skin which is interently stronger, magical in nature, completely different muscular structure, which causes the creature to walk and move differently, with a totally different ratio'd size of limbs / torso compared to a humanoid.

at the most, i would say an amphibious rune sounds fair.

But, a lizardman is a humanoid still, it has nothing which sets it apart from a human in dark legacy.

The looks don't matter, and even the race rune for lizardmen isn't that important. But i've been waiting for a LONG time now to see my wisdom raise above 46, my eq is enchanted for 50 wisdom because it isn't mentioned anywhere that lizardmen have a -4 wisdom penalty, so i wanna see it raised to 50. The -4 int penalty is bad enough i think...
I know this is an old topic, but i want my 50 wisdom badly, but still the fact that this is an old topic won't change much to my wishes i think... Not that anyone cares about this non-mentioned penalty ofcourse (except lizardmen :D )

the races will all be changing come next race patch - please see the new race discussion section to see how your race is coming along.

(should be labelled as race ancestry or something)
