Dark Legacy needs to have SOME form of serious risk. I suggested re-instating EQ purge, at first it was all EQ, but then I suggested 1 piece of eq when you die to a DT. But currently the only way for there to be some kind of serious risk in DL is to play Permadeath. And I think many of the more experienced players can attest to the fact that dieing is pretty much a minor inconvenience, the only time it's actually aggravting is dieing right before leveling from levels 48+.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how DL could have some form of serious risk? You know, something that the players would actually be scared of happening?

Again my idea:

If a player hits a DT: Purge 1 item of Equipment at random.

Vogar's Idea: If you hit a DT have the repairs cost a heck of a lot more money-wise as well as a base material cost. eg: 100k and 20 meteorite to repair an item made from meteorite.

No, Vogar's idea was that equipment that has become damaged should cost more then a handful of gold to repair. That and possible need some resource material for the repairs. I mentioned nothing about DT's damaging gear. Just gear damage in general.

Really damaged equipment

Basically equipment becomes damaged so badly that the cost for repairing it is HUGE. -.-

hmmm
while I don't agree with what you're saying..I don't really disagree either..there has to be 'something' there.

Permadeath isn't the only way to lose eq currently, there are bushfires/wildfires, and for the inexperienced, lava pools pose a serious risk and an easy decision to leave your stuff there. Oh..there is also the plane of fire if your not smart enough to stay away from it...also there are mobs that purge your eq aswell.

i think the repair cost thing would be a better idea

see in epics, the damage done to eq, i consider balanced or, close.

you fight stuff for a few hours, rack up tons of xp, and your gear is pretty much shot, and you go repair. (well, the cloth eq was at least)

anything outside of epics doesnt seem to be the same balance, you could fight for a month elsewhere in the game, and never repair it seems.

I like to see DT function as it used to be years ago.

Lingolas, have I ever told you that your Avatar suits you?

You do realize people (like myself) could trick people (like you) into DT's very easily? How would you like me to lose a ball of light, and you lose a full suit of e500 gear? Heck, if I planned it well, I could get you purged and not even harm myself.
