It would be nice to be able to pk those that are on your private property. Onners and coowners of a property should be free of persecution for pk people who snoop on their properties.

There's probably a lot of ways to abuse this. anyway, what kind of rules/restrictions could be implemented to prevent abuses and make this idea work well?

I 100% agree with this idea, especially since it's common courtesy to not stick your nose in a residence that you either don't own, aren't invited to, or belong to a guild that houses within it.

I'm tired of seeing people think they can go wherever they please with no regard as to whether someone wants them there or not. Even with exits locked and stuff, it's still a matter of respect and principle that people stay out of someone else's house.

Submit a log or code in something to log activity within entrances to houses that both Caretakers and house owners can access. The log should show all activity that occurs in case there's an attack, that way there's subtle proof.

this would have to be for discussion - and while it might be nice for RP, its open for abuse, here's a scenario

Lingolas wants to pkill characters, now, lets say lingolas is in his own hamlet, and has enabled looting, he opens a portal in tarsonis with a friend, and invites some little new character inside.

(like an old man offering you candy to step into a dark alley)
maybe he says, hey, check out my guild, i can let you stay here and store stuff, or i have pets in here for you to buy, dragons, etc

once inside, bam, pkilled, and looted

he could be like wha- wha- i caught this guy walking around in my home!

Everything has it's drawback.

Sure, he lured him into his property under false pretenses. Yes he killed him in a very sneaky manner. Byproducts of this action:

1. One newb that's a little wiser.
2. The killer's reputation is now tarnished, as is his association (guild).

I doubt the newb will ever choose that person's guild, and won't be playing with or helping out the killer should he ever need it.

I don't think it'd be all that much of an issue.

if every new player to dark legacy is sent a tell to go to this special place, i think 'making players wiser by having them pkilled and looted' is rather drastic :)

its not a bad idea, i suppose.

might be better if any player or group of people just simply could not enter a home that they werent supposed to be in (a force field)

I like the idea of PKilling trespassers...maybe have a blinking red warning when you enter a structure which is not yours and a 5 second or so timer in which they can't be attacked? If they do get killed, they're going to learn quickly.

Hard to find the logs of those types of things right? Because if you could find out easily, and prove that Lingolas said come into my home then hed be busted. hmm, damn abusers ;)

Outside of abuse:
Mb something extra would be a nice custom echo you can add in setguild.
So non-owners, friends, etc would get the message: "Stop, you are entering private property!" And you can make a different message to make it cooler like for the Kialli guild citadel "Stop mortal, you trespass on grounds not meant for your kind, turn back or the ground will be soaked with your blood like so many before you." Bla bla bla.

or how about "get yo punk-crackah ass outta my dojo!"

that works too.

And kia, Looting is great fun in PK. A good bit of the excitement is the knowledge that if you're not good enough you run the risk of getting yo stuff ganked from your body, and that means you lose something of value, i.e there's a penalty to having the fun and pleasure of killing eacother.

Actually, I think Kiasyn was being rhetorical. I may be wrong.

It should read: what does looting have to do with PK, because loot is not the only solution to making PK worthwhile.

I don't think it was a mindless question, but a proposal.

looting is traditionally associated to PK, but i don't think that it is a necessary part of PK.

What ever happened to the good old fashioned lock on the door? How much is it again? 5k gold? O.o

Besides, if you have someone bug you at your residence and they won't leave, that's what the charge - harrasment against a player, is for. I think a couple hours in jail imposed on a player is much more pleasing than killing them, because they can res and play again =)
