I propose adding a new library in each village in which characters may study and 'specialize' in certain areas. Each character has the choice of specializing in one area only. Or more, this is just an idea.
Such 'professions' if you shall call them, require characters to read the books that they are wanting to specialize in, and then have to answer a writing prompt where a series of questions are asked by a certain 'mob figure', based on having read those books. Once the person has succesfully answered all questions correct, the 'mob' per say, would give that person a certificate showing that they have completed that course, and it [specialization] would be listed on their bio.
Some ideas that have come to mind:
Treasure Hunter: This person, upon reading various books on archaelogical topics, would receive an automactic 5% or 10% raise in gold findings, and/or chests popups, and/or raise in luck by 10 stats.
Master Conjurer: This person, after having read various help files on spells/prisms, would recieve half reduction, if not all - xp cost when conjuring spells.
Resurrector: This entails removing the resurrect spell from those classes that apply (or) making this course required before the spell may be conjured.
Beautician: This person, upon completion of the course, would recieve a bonus of +5 charisma stats. 5/50 - NOT 55/50
Master Miner: An automactic 20% on percentages and/or (for the extreme) be allowed to add a second catagory for mining for gems. For example: 100% sapphires 100% diamonds. Or perhaps be allowed a second area, but only at 50%.
Master Mind: An automatic free +5 intell and/or +5 wisdom, perhaps they have a choice? 5/50 - NOT 55/50
Doctor: 10% increase of healing spell and/or having the skill to make badges/splints.
etc.... I think you get the idea. I am sure other 'professions' can be thought of as well. Is this even feasible?

They seem a bit unbalanced...Choose between 5 cha, no xp to conjure, or extra gold/chests...seems like a no brainer...

Fine...5 cha, no exp to conjure, or extra chests? Still a nobrainer
