Due to popular request we are currently testing player versus player characters.
PvP characters differ from normal characters in the following manner:
* You can turn pvp by using the 'pvp' command at level 1.
* No assault flagging or Caretaker protection fighting other PvPers.
* Safe rooms do not function fully for them.
* Free use of the war channel.
* Once pvp always pvp! You will not be able to change back!
Other than that you will be held to the laws of peaceful characters. No special laws exist for pvpers at this time. If you want it to stay that way, do not grief.
We do not plan to introduce a rift between peaceful and pvp characters; mechanics that are available to one will be available to the other.
When PVP picks up I might be adding things like highscores, scalping, thngs like that. If it doesn't, it will probably be removed
Have fun!

PVP Laws Revision 2
Since there are no PVP laws I am setting down these guidelines. I will change these as PVP progresses.
Most pvpers already are established players. Because of this, I have decided to try a hardcore approach /without/ babysitting.
What IS allowed:
* Attacking PVPers of ANY level at ANY time.
* PVP related IN CHARACTER Swearing and Taunting on the war channel. No racism, no discrimination, no OOC personal attacks.
* Involving peaceful characters or alts as spies.
* Obtaining items from peaceful characters or alts.
* Obtaining spellups from peaceful characters, with the exception of during combat, chase or while on an adrenaline rush!
There is one thing however that I wish to make utterly clear:
The deadly world is not for peaceful eyes or ears. Under no circumstances may you fight your fights on public channels, or retaliate against a peaceful character verbally or otherwise! Your clan is held responsible for the actions of their members. I will not hesitate to remove pvp from the game if it ruins the gameplay for the peaceful crowd!
Other than the above, you will have to follow the same laws as peaceful characters, and any laws the ruling pvp clans enforce upon you by their blade.
If you feel you cannot push yourself into PVP as a newbie, contract one of the pvpers/clans for protection. Be creative! If you cannot get protection or cannot handle cheap tactics or foul language, the arena is the place for you.
Revision #2:
+ Tweaked war channel swearing and taunting because of racism, descrimination, and personal attacks.

Q: Can deadlies attack peacefuls.
A: They can, but will be subject to the justice council (just like a peaceful killing a peaceful). Deadlies are expected to stay out of the peaceful world and will be punished more severely for transgressions.

Q: Can pvpers gang up on a single pvper?
A: Yes, they can. Clans might set down laws ruling otherwise though, since a growth in the PvP community benefits them.

Q. A peaceful character keeps giving my enemies items/revealing my location/spelling them up (out of fights), what can I do?
A: Nothing against the peaceful. You are not allowed to retaliate, verbally or physically. Take it out on the PvPer.

Q. A peaceful character keeps spelling up/healing my rival PvPer during a fight/during a chase/during adrenaline cooldown. What can I do?
A. Get one of your clan representatives (or if you lack a clan, you directly) to contact a Caretaker on the matter.
as of version 2.1.0.13514 the mud blocks peaceful (and NPC) casts during adrenaline period, so this should no longer be an issue

Q. I use an NPC healer to spam heal during a PVP fight.
A. All cheap tactics are allowed. Things like this will get tweaked though. (You might find the healers stop healing fighting characters).

Q. I'm camping my rivals corpse, hoping to corpse-rot him! wheee! Is this allowed?
A. Corpse camping is allowed, albeit a bit useless. During these first days of PvP PVPers can request a bodybag from a Caretaker. Note that corpses will soon cease to hold worn eq.
as of version 2.1.0.13514 the mud allows pkilled corpses to be supp corpsed, so if you stay out of rooms that block supplicate you should be ok

Q. I keep getting astralled to. I have no means of protecting myself. is this allowed?
A. Yes it is. There are several means of lowering the chance of getting astralled to. (one of which some players come into contact with on a dayly basis)

Q: A peaceful character is killing me and getting no or a short jail sentence. He is attacking me to retaliate for something PvP related.
A: They will be jailed for unjustified murder. (If your tactics are legal by the PvP laws you are in your right to use them).
