stalkers do their "seems bored" thing like every second, config -stalker doesn't prevent them from porting to you

First off quelryan this thread is for discussing specific patch related issues, etc.
Please put your general ideas in the suggestion section.

Patch issue/concern:
Phantom steed wasnt upgraded along with the rest of the summons creatures. I suggest making them the same type of summons as the others (levels/abilities etc) instead of just a travelling tool.
As asked by Celeborn, some ideas concerning upgrades: (bears crush atm) so, give steeds auto-trample.

Changes up to 26-3-2008

- Rats spell: rats are several levels above caster level (might be epic/non epic level issue e219). (FIXED)
- Dismiss doesn't function (elemental keeps following target). (FIXED)
- single-hitting a mob excludes other partymembers from the loot. (INTENDED)
- Certain people get stuck after a fight. (FIXED)
- Treasure gets the 'treasure' tag added to the main description (FIXED)
- Bards suffer from dry thoat symptom when using instruments. (FIXED) If mages don't get repetitive strain
injury from casting bards no longer get dry throat syndrome :P they have enough tuning to do anyway.
- Several crash bugs (STEPS TAKEN, STILL BUGS THERE PROBABLY)
- autoloot didn't trigger looting; now it does.
- Split gives the impression people receiving a split were actually giving away money. (FIXED)
- Partymembers not at the same location as the rest get a split of gold. (INTENDED)
- Dead partymembers still shield others. (FIXED)
- Treasure systems drops e400+ fakecrafted items, should be capped at e400. (FIXED)
- Item Equipment drop is too frequent at epic levels. (FIXED, at level 50 common item drops get rare).
- Charmies get the 'fighting thin air' description after a fight. (FIXED)
- Put some work into patch stability (less crashes).
- Summoned creatures do not auto-join a fight + my pet is supposedly in my party, but isnt gaining exp? (FIXED)
- Partymembers autojoin in any fight.
- Config +autojoin to autojoin fights when partymembers attack
- Config +autominion to make minions autojoin fights.
- i guess its intended for my range token to be blank at 0 range? (check default fprompt) (INTEDED)
- added the 'adult' channel for adult conversations.
- Mirror Image doesn't double the characters description in the room. (INTENDED)
- Spider epic cocoon victims have been given a supporting role so they no longer tank :P

- Added 'support' role for mages.
- Partymembers will no longer automatically join fights elsewhere.
- Solo players are shown corpse contents again.
- parent/child helpfile relationships dont seem to save. (FIXED)
- Zenpin and hyakuhei break off when players enter the arena. (FIXED, UNTESTED)
- Role skills start maxed (sset <skill> flag learnmaxed) (FIXED, ACTIVE AFTER ONLINE MAINPORT)
- Zenpin and Hyakuhei leave party properly now.
- Veil of daggers no longer crits.
- yelling draws mobs towards the player. (Having mobs not react to yelling actually might be good when the epic changes come to pass, but we're changing enough already in this patch).

From Evelyn, since she can't access the forums:

you lose about 80% of your balance when logging in if you arent flying or floating, on the world map. Also when walking up or down in the mines.
Evelyn tells you "hmm, maybe i should refine that a tad, and specifically say, its the gravity code doing it".

As an aside: Ha! Mortiax is a Newbie! The forum says so... :lol:

COngratulations Celeborn. THis is the most I've seen the mud change since the race patch. And there have been quite alot of changes you've implemented recently. <33
THaknyou for all the new ways to play and the more engaging game system.
It seems like the whole game is just getting better and better.

i think that sanctuary may be a bit too short, it's not worth casting before about 3 dur runes, 15 seconds of effect is all you get, with an additional 15 seconds per dur rune. Could we try one minute, plus 30 seconds per dur rune? I think that would be better

By the way...
I can't even get into the patch server.
Am I required to make a new account to do it or something?
I've tried using some of my old chars, like Shasharala, or even making a new char in my account for the server, but it crashes on me either way.

Well, I am confused by what the system is telling me.
In epics when I'm in a party and I loot the corpse of someone, and split if with my party it says:
[Party] Shasharala frisks the corpse of priest of tlock.
You get 47 gold coins from the corpse of priest of tlock
You pay 47 gold.
You split 47 gold coins. Your share is 24 gold coins.

Why the heck does it say I'm paying 47 gold? To who? And why? Technically if I am paying anyone at all, my teamates, it should say I pay how much I owe everyone else... but who cares?
I don't get why it's telling me I'm paying anyone anything at all when I clearly am not.

I also don't understand the gravity messages. Why were they invented? They're kind of spammy and it even says things like:
The spilled blood flips right-side up.
OR
The corpse of priest of tlock flips right-side up.

Well, okay... does the blood really have a right direction to face in? It's a puddle... =o
And who cares if the corpse of the priest falls down on his face, or happens to magically reassert himself to face right side upwards, or falls backwards on his back?
Anyway... just ideas I'm seeing and wondering about. Possibly thought maybe it could be fixed in this patch.

oh yeah, one more thing about the GRAVITY. it should definitely not remove longdescs from mobs!
like, in uhh, that place. HOCHENYANA that's it!

in there, there're a bunch of named mobs that you have to try things to figure out the names they'll go by, and it takes the magic out of it

On one of my new character i die and cannot depart nor can i do anything about it.
weird thing is i can get stuff from the corpse and its not in inventory maybe deleted. whatever i guess i lost a lot of good leveling equipment :(

Re the patch testing (21-7):

Issue 1: Attempting to charm a mobile
(those that are charmable on the mainport, currently the dwarven daycare mobs):

Works as usual, except for dismissing.
When you dismiss a mob:
- 'dazed' message disappears (as expected)
- mob no longer accepts orders (as expected)
- mob can be aggro ("A dwarven baby yells 'I'm going to tear Malkier apart!'") (as expected)
NOT expected:
- mob will follow you as you walk room-to-room (as if charmed)
- if you stay put and the mob is one that usually wanders, it will still do so. but the moment you walk into its room and exit again, it will follow you as if charmed.
- (re)-charming the mob after 'dismissing' it causes the 'stops following you/now follows you' message (as if it were never dismissed)
- charming two mobs and dismissing one or both, then trying to charm the same or a different mob acts like you still have 2 charmies.

Record of tests:
(logged in and out between trials to reset all the charmie stuff. Throughout, the number of stalkers appeared to have no effect)

**trial: two charmies, dismiss one, recharm**
c charm nanny
c charm baby
(2 charmies, fine)
dismiss nanny (fine)
c charm nanny -> 'You cannot control any more charms or summons.'

**trial: two charmies, dismiss one, charm a different mob to the first two**
c charm nanny
c charm baby
(2 charmies, fine)
dismiss nanny (fine)
c charm youth -> 'You cannot control any more charms or summons.'

**trial: two charmies, dismiss both, try to recharm one of the original two**
c charm nanny
c charm baby
dismiss nanny
dismiss baby (fine)
c charm nanny -> 'You cannot control any more charms or summons.'

**trial: two charmies, dismiss both, try to recharm one different from the original two**
c charm nanny
c charm baby
dismiss nanny
dismiss baby (fine)
c charm toddler -> 'You cannot control any more charms or summons.'

**trial: one charmie, dismiss it, recharm the same
c charm nanny
dismiss nanny (fine)
c charm nanny -> 'The mean old nanny stops following you./The mean old nanny now follows you.' (the message I expect if I recharmed the nanny without dismissing her first)

**trial: one charmie, dismiss it, charm a different mob

c charm toddler (FINE, works as expected)

**trial: one charmie, dismiss it, charm two mobs (doesn't matter whether it's the same or not)
c charm nanny
dismiss nanny
c charm <mob1> (fine. have 1 charmie)
c charm <mob2> -> 'You cannot control any more charms or summons.'

Conclusion: dismissing seems not to decrease my 'current number of charmies' count, meaning I can't charm more even though I've dismissed a mob.


Issue 2: attack message on charming (possibly fixed?)
I once got this message, but haven't been able to reproduce it (even under the same conditions). I guess it was fixed?

2 party members (me, pet), 0 stalkers, 1 charmie:
Code:

Melaine: Attempts to pierce an old doll's magic resistance, (107+18=125, MR 1), *pierce*
an old doll: Makes a willpower check (1+11=12, DC 102), *fails*
An old doll now follows you.

Issue 3: casting earthquake.

Code:
c earthquake
You gesture and chant 'Motus-us'
Cannot attack yourself!
The spell fizzles.


(this happens regardless of charmies/stalkers, and whether in combat or not)

I'll test more if I can squeeze the time; it's a good way to procrastinate :)
