The official diagnosis is 2 fold from the pediatric opthamologist.

1.) Delayed Visual Maturation

http://www.aph.org/cvi/articles/alexander_1.html

Quote:

Children are not born with a fully developed visual sense but acquire their visual skills gradually. Delayed visual maturation is diagnosed when young infants exhibit markedly delayed visual function, due to various causes. Delayed visual development is a more appropriate term because while the delayed visual function in most instances improves, with appropriate management and with time; it only rarely becomes entirely normal.

2.) Cogenital Blocked Tear Duct

Word from the pediatric opthamologist is that #2 should resolve itself by the next 3 months. If it does't, it will require a simple surgical procedure to unplug it and stick a little tube there. Very simple and common procedure.

#1 is a bit of a different story. She should start to improve within the next three months. However, if she does not they will have to do an extensive examination of her that requires anesthesia and we will also have to consult with a neurologist.

So, basically, we are waiting and seeing (no pun intended) for the next 3 months. Hopefully she should be alright.

So, obviously, my and Zera's attention may be pulled in other directions in the coming months depending on what happens with Zoe.

This is a bit off topic, buy why is your child glaring at me and giving 'the bird' in that avatar? lol, Only just noticed all that. No insult is ment at all, by the way. Just think that picture is humorous if it was not intended.

2.) Cogenital Blocked Tear Duct

My daughter also suffered from this problem when she was an infant. Her eyes constently watered so by the time she was around 14 months old she had a simple surgery to unclog the ducts in both of her eyes. She is now 6 years old and has never had a problem with her eyes since. I just wish they would have done the surgery a lot sooner then they did.
