I'd just like to see what everyone pictures a typical MUD player to be and if someone's really shocked you because you thought of them in a totally different way (ie they were hot when you didn't think they'd be). Any of them had some really odd jobs you wouldn't associate with someone who spends their time on a MUD.

Yes, include that glasses-wearing, Coke-guzzling, fat kid whose main worship figure is Luke Skywalker or something. Because for me, it'd be that except he/she would also be into DBZ and Yu-Gi-Oh and they'd be pale white and no girlfriend

I would describe the typical mudder, but I dislike perpetuating stereotypes.

I will however describe the average of all the people I've met during my muddding times:

I R INTRUDUCE MESELF. MEZ IS 42, and I grew up on a small latin farm in the indies just south of the border. I grew up a normal life, dreaming of a better more texture filled place. I was a young boy then, Ah yes, young I was, Growing up seemed to be the best part of life, except I had no computer, then one fateful day a stranger came into our village bringing a new invention, a computer, so after that we allg ot hooked on drugs and shot people. THEEZ ENDZ WHUTGEE, yes, I was once literate but now I must be reduced to a slobbering drunk writer who cannot spell and must use abbreviations such as lah-uh-l or, Oh mu guh. In relapse mudding has saved my life, otherwise I would be a successful country rancher, but now, Mudding, I lost everything and I have no house or home, I live in a cardboard box with internet connection, and I write pictures on the wall. The end. Just kidding folks i'm a 67 year old aging man who served in 'nam and my friend billy bob got shot in the leg 4 times by those damn japs. Just kidding again i'm a 14 year old girl mad at her parents because they won't let me see the boy I like so much. JUST KIDDING. I'm a 14 year old boy who's mind revolves around sex, computers, sex, computers, food, sex, sex, and computers. And food. I'm not really the typical MUDer, I don't think. I'm not pasty white, have social skills [even though everyone hates me here], have a girlfriend, am from teh ghetto, and was a jock in school.

Personlality:
(Possitive): Intelligent, Strategic, Informational, Logical, Open Minded
(Negative): Tends to think Sarcasm is awesome, Opinionated, Vindictive, Deceiving, and perhaps a bit unsociable in RL.

Physical Characteristics: Honestly, I think most who play on here are probably attractive, and on the contrary, not overweight, and if they are, not by much.

Lift Style: Eats food at computer or tends to forget to eat at all, if you smoke - ashes everywhere, Has made a personal binder/folder/file for quick reference for the game and sits lying somewhere near the computer, attacks the computer upon arriving home from work/school, ignorant of surroundings specially when spouse/ parents are yelling. I also believe these people know quite a lot about computer technology. These people tend to also have too much time on their hands. These people are also addicted to computer games.

Average Mud Player's age is: 15 - 25

Yes, not mentioning names here, but yes, I have come to learn quite a lot about people and a word of advice, get to know someone before you make a judgemental call. It's amazing how first impressions are actually quite inaccurate. =P It runs both ways >=) I honestly can say that I made some inaccurate judgment calls on some people and they ended up being possitive. I just thank myself for being openminded =)

I play the violin/fiddle, i have a massive love for music, of all genres, death metal, gothic, german opera, rock n roll, bluegrass, celtic. I love it all. My fiddle studies are currently in the traditional folk category, with instances of classical thrown in for good measure. But my main purpose in life is to 1) play traditional bluegrass/celtic with the fiddle, and then 2)buy an electric violin and go .... into outer space, and beyond

First off, I don't drink... Ever.... Have never even tasted beer once. Don't touch coffee either. Drink ATLEAST one Mountain Dew a day, however.

Have only smoked one cig in my life (for a very attractive lady that thought I would look great as a "James Dean" model under a street lamp. Nearly froze my arse off in an open jacket in the middle of NY January for the pose.)

Certified in Firearms Technologies and Gunsmithing. Took some mechanical engineering classes, and was in college in New York State when 9/11 happened. Several months later I maxed out the military ASVAP score and joined the Army National Guard as Military Police, giving up mechanical engineering.

I have been shooting firearms since I was about 5 or 6 years old, and am trying for SRT (military equal of S.W.A.T.) Basically a weapons specialist.

In the civilian world I am currently providing contract security for the military. Basically your average jack-booted thug, like the ones that get killed like flies in "The Matrix".

Haven't had a relationship since I was 20, (I am 23 now). Was engaged and had a major falling out, and honestly now don't trust women much. I am getting a little more social now as time goes by. Generally have atleast one gal stalking me, but don't trust people enough to give the time of day

Don't dance, don't party, don't 'get out' much. I also don't give mercy to underage drinkers, underage smokers, drug users, or speeders.

Fighting a bad habbit of using "F---" or "F---ing" three or more times a sentence in casual conversation. Developed the habbit during some military training. Don't use the word at all when 'being professional'.

Dress in wool and silk, in natural and earth tones. Rarely in green, but never any bright colors. Wear evening coats, and turtlenecks. Never caught dead in short-sleaves.

I am 5'10" and about 165 pounds of lean muscle.

Blue eyes, brown hair, clean shaven, shaped eyebrows, and I get a professional hair cut (within military reg) every two weeks.

Used to be a gymnast, and can still do no-handed cart-wheels, hand-walk, and do pushups from a handstand.

Really enjoy shooting combat pistols, and buy ammunition in multiple cases of 1000rds. If you saw the movie "S.W.A.T." I have my own pistol training 'lane' in my backyard.

Enjoy swordplay, more or less SCA style though I disagree with a lot of their "safety" which removes from the usefulness of the skill.

Can make everything from jewelry and chain mail to swords and rifles, and has the tools and supplies to do so. However, I am addicted to computer gaming and it crimps on the time I actually spend making things. I do however make things while at the computer. Luckily no chain-mail links have gotten in the keyboard, yet.

Am I the average MUD'er? Probably not in most ways. However, I do share a lot of traits. In instant messengers I often "Tell" people things, and type "quit" before I log out. Even catch myself using "mud-talk" now and then in conversations.

Also like to waste my time writing long posts in mud forums, but I am sure you guessed that already.
