just a quick add on.
Quest items or objects
This is how it works. You have a questmaster mob in one of the towns. aquest request would be one of the commands.
With that you have options to aquest refuse and aquest review. I know this is not a easy code to fix if you download it from smaug.com and modify it. It a start and worth looking into and for the questmaster you should add on the extra flag to the mobile. Examine: [Quests] The Questmaster is here floating. if you perfer a name that fine. the items are made up by the immortals any items quest. Examine :
    Celeborn's sandwich lunchbox. :?:
    Zidane's Certificate of Death :?: (hey a man can dream right?)
    Isabella's Voodoo doll of Life. :?:
    Mystic's ball of yarn. :?:

whatever the imms names could be. The killing mob request should be base on levels but from what i learn. Its completely random for both item or killible quest. There is the option to place a non-quest flag for future problems and troubles issue. If someone has a killing quest to take out keraptis at level 40. you could add a flag or not. 8) This not a easy idea to explain for me as you all know english is not my first language.
Oh and stop asking me what is my first language if your not interesting it to learn it. :twisted:

This quest system is already employed by a good deal of God Wars Muds, the death certificates are used in some godwars muds and some dragonball muds also. Its a pretty nice system, but on a rare occasion you have the quest NPC giving low level players impossible quests for their level. Best bet would be setting up your level ranges to include a large variety of creatures and options for the player. Quests could Be ranked (easy, hard, etc), to make up for the amount of varied power based on jewellery if it'll be included in the "dark legacy 2.0".

Nation A: Akania
Nation B: Soliath
Nation C: Matra

Each nation has it's own history, culture and possibility of a different monetary unit. Each nation has it's own capital city and its associated controlled territories.

The three nations are always at war. NPCs from nation A are agressiv towards players from nation B and C and vise versa.

When a player starts DL-2, that player has the ability to choose which nation to start from. Where a player starts is not permanent. A player may defect from the current nation and join another nation, but the cost is tremendous and defectives are rare even among the rich and powerful.

Membership to nations are assigned to the Player's account not the character. This means that all alts are always in the same nation.

When a person from nation A sucessfully defeat a person from nation B. the victor earns X amount of glory points (not the same as the current glory) for his/her nation. The loser, loses 0.5X glory points. Each player can only earn MX amount of glory points for every Y hours.

Players from a particular nation may turn in their points into a pool of glory for the associated nation. The national leader(s) (dictator or democracy) may ultilize the glory inside the national glorypool to purchase national structures, repair damages (seperate topic), and etc...

Possible available structures for purchase and prices:
1.) 100 glory points = level 10 npc guard (at capital city)
2.) 300 glory poiints = level 30 npc guard (at capital city)
3.) 1000 glory points = level 50 mage (at capital city)
4.) 1000 glory points = Stone tower
5.) 1500 glory points = Stone tower upgrade with 3 elite archers
6.) 2500 glory points = Cerebus guarding at the gate
7.) 5000 glory points = Crystal of plenty(hunger/thirst free for the citizen of that nation)
8.) you get the idea...

These structures can be taken down by the invading forces (npcs, players, or even time)

History and Culture
* Akania - Giant city. Worship god x

* Soliath - a floating city. Technologically advanced. Does not worship any dieties

* Matra - a magical city. Inhabitants prefer the old ways. Worship god Y
(I will add more later)

Questions, abuses and fixes:
Abuse: multiplay
Fix: upon discovery = forever banned

Abuse: Allow friends to kill each other to gain glorypoints
Fix: Glory points are fixed, it is only transfered so no new glorypoints are created no matter what you do. Killing a person that has no glory points will get you o glory point. Also, you can only gain x amount of glory points max within any 24 hrs.

Problem: Players with glorypoints cant be killed and dont log on
Fix: everyone gain one glory point a day just for logging on. If you dont log on, you get no glory points

Problem: players are too chicken to venture into the enemy's territories
Fix: leveling areas for level 40+ are dispersed evenly in the terrritories that belong to the 3 nations.

Problem: Astral
Fix: territories are astral and farsight prohibited. This does rule excludes NPCs. This means that you can astral to NPCs, you just cant astral to another player

Problem: corpse camping
Fix: upon arisen from death. The player is affected with immunity and Pacifisco for 1 minute. This means that the player can not be attacked and neither can that player attack anyone else.

Problem: the mudbase is too small to support 3 nations
fix: the mud has on average of 10-20 players active half of the time. So the average is about 15. This means that there will be about 5 players per nation. With this exciting system, i think the mud will be more active.

Question: Can't we just have 2 nations?
Answer: NO, 2 nations will not be balance

Question: Can't we just have 2 nations at war and the 3rd neutral?
Answer: No, It will not be balance

Concern: How will lowbies be able to level up with all this war?
Answer: Level 10-39 are protected by the newbie entity. Anyone who pk this level range will have an 80% chance of facing instant death that is caused by the newbie entity. This means that newbies do face a 20% risk. Upon arisen from a pk, a newbie may pray to his/her deity to regain 90% of the lost exp. Only newbies who worship the newbie god are protected.

Question: can't we have more than 3 nations?
Answer: Not feasible with the current pbase.

Question: how do we incorporate purchased structures?
Answer: up to celeborn

Question: who gets to decide what to buy?
Answer: The Senators/advisors get decides what to buy

Question: Senatiors/advisors?
Answer: Every 5 people from 5 unique accounts of a perticular nation can elect one senator. Each term lasts for 2 weeks. This is to eliminate inactive players from the senator roll. This also adjust the number of senators vs. the pbase. With the this system in tact, knowledgable players are more likely to be the decision maker. At the same time, it allows everyone to participate.

(i will expand more on this idea later)
