i agree wholeheartedly. i always try to be nice to everyone, but sometimes, yeah, i do make some joke-ey answers... but i try to help them get the real answer, however i can help, if at all, and i encourage others to do the same

Someone with the power to do so should re-write the help files. They haven't been updated much, and most of it means nothing to new players.
I support the re-writing of the help files into "The Guide to Dark-Legacy for Dummies" So everyone can understand it.
I actually wrote a 7 page "Newbie Guide" so my friend could learn the important stuff to survive on DL. He's not a very smart person, so i had to write it so he couldnt possibly screw it up. (He did anyways. Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.)
Most of it needs to be edited so it makes better sense, but it would be a start. If some caretakers or writers would like to see it gimmie your E-mail and i'll send it to ya.

Pretty much all of them, so when you type in help for one thing it doesnt give you something completely irrelevant. If you need an example, just wait for a new player to start asking their first questions. Throw the topic of the question into the help files, and then pretend you're a newbie trying to make sense of it. If you think it wouldnt' help a player new to MUDing, re-write it.
Then there's some things where you put it in the help file, and it only gives you limited or no help whatsoever on it. I know alot of the game is to figure it out on your own, but i think anything craft\fighting related\equpiment specs, should detailed in the help files.

Give me one example, i find it extremely hard to believe that the helpfiles on dark-legacy are either non-existant, or impossible to understand, or somehow completely vague.
You are either talking about a different mud, or someone is here trolling for responses.
If there is something that needs to be updated, post specifics, and we will fix it.
I don't know of a single thing ingame which does not have a helpfile.
